The Source Magazine
I had the pleasure of working with The Source Magazine as a daily columnist. My journey began with an internship, writing unauthored copy for other staff writers. This experience evolved into my own column on TheSource.com, "Today in Hip Hop History." While I was there, the column achieved the site’s highest average traffic. Through careful research and my taste, I expanded beyond TIHHH. I brought a new perspective and awareness to a publication surviving the digital age. I did this by pitching new concepts, including music festival reviews, street art event coverage, film screenings, and interviews.

I transformed what was once a 50-word shout-out of the day's historical events into fleshed-out literary time capsules that read more like an innovative history lesson rather than a blog post.
Artists and historical figures in Rap music began reaching out to me personally because of the depth of my articles. It got to the point that artists’ teams sent me gifts for my birthday each year I wrote at The Source, and would personally invite me to cover events in LA.
As a result of this impact, through my work, the column earned a sponsorship from Sol Republic headphones, something that had yet to happen for any other column in the site’s history.
